Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a concept that emphasizes a company’s responsibility to consider the social and environmental impacts of its operations and decisions. One important aspect of CSR is the idea of putting “people first,” which involves prioritizing the well-being and interests of people above other considerations, such as profits or shareholder returns.

We try our best to cater to our employees and workers that do a great job for us and for our clients. It is important to us that everyone feels recognized, valued and understood in the workplace so that we can all collaborate together harmoniously and efficiently.

One of the many ways in which this is done, is through company retreats or work gatherings – where all of us can shake off the stress and bond outside of work.

At GlobeGaia, our efforts towards sustainability are only as successful as our efforts towards the people in our community. Currently, we are focusing our efforts primarily on Volunteering that was started in 2016 amongst other things. We participate in a weekly vegetable and fruit distribution program to the needy in society with the help of the Lion’s Club, our employees and others in the community.

The Lion’s club collects and consolidates all donations of fresh fruits and vegetables from wholesale suppliers. GlobeGaia arranges the logistics and manpower to pick up and bring these perishables to block 109 in Bedok North. The void deck of the block becomes the assembly and sorting point which is approved by the town council.

A group of volunteers led by Gurmit Singh start work at 11 am every Saturday to co-ordinate and distribute the perishables. The fruits, vegetables and pantry items are sorted and distributed to needy families, soup kitchens, and old folk homes. These continued efforts address food insecurity in the low-income community, and promote healthy eating and moving towards Singapore’s Zero Waste goals.
